World's Largest On-demand ERP/CRM Implementation Goes Live on NetSuite

Industry-Leading B2B Provider UCG to Deploy 700 Seats of NetSuite

SAN MATEO, Calif.—September 19, 2006—NetSuite, Inc., the leader in on-demand business software suites, today announced that UCG (www.ucg.com), one of the nation's leading providers of business information, is rolling out NetSuite to automate its front- and back-office operations, from financials to sales force automation and customer support. The NetSuite installation will give UCG a full view of its business. UCG plans to deploy more than 700 user seats of NetSuite, making it the largest on-demand ERP and CRM implementation in the world. UCG has already implemented the ERP component of NetSuite across its entire finance unit. It also introduced NetSuite CRM for part of its sales and customer support functions and plans to complete the implementation for the remaining business divisions over the coming months. UCG is one of America's leading providers of specialised business-to-business information; its portfolio comprises of several vertical companies. UCG serves the information and software needs of decision-makers in healthcare, oil & energy, high technology, telecommunications, banking & finance and education. A leader in theB2B space, UCG has won several prestigious accolades in the industry for editorial content. Having previously used Microsoft Great Plains (Dynamics) for financial operations and Goldmine for SFA and CRM, UCG chose NetSuite for one integrated software application that can help its flourishing business across the entire organization without having to deal with the challenges of using different software packages. With NetSuite, UCG has eliminated errors in customer and financial transactions and increased the detail and accuracy of its financial reporting. Additionally, NetSuite's role-based dashboards provide the president of each business division a real-time view of important business indicators — from sales and forecasts, to orders, billings, and accounts receivable and payable.

ERP implementations require sophisticated knowledge and experience in the financial processes of a business, and the requirements increase with the addition of CRM. The seasoned experience of the NetSuite Professional Services team enabled the combined NetSuite-UCG team to map out and execute a relevant ERP/CRM implementation plan with all its complexities within the expected timeframe.

"We didn't want an on-premise solution because of the upfront expense and longer time to implement. We knew there had to be a modern, flexible solution, and NetSuite was a slam dunk to improve our financial and order entry transaction environment," said Del Brockett, chief operating officer of UCG. "But all that pales in comparison to the business intelligence enabled by NetSuite. With a consolidated view of our customers, products, and business, the days of having multiple versions of the same customer record are over. NetSuite delivers a powerful new way to interact with our data through a real-time dashboard interface. The value we are going to drive from that is huge. NetSuite also provides UCG a strong acquisition and integration platform for the organization; this is key to the support of UCG's active M&A efforts."

NetSuite was created to give small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) the power of integrated enterprise applications like SAP without the pain, cost and complexity. Historically, mid-sized companies have had to operate separate software packages to run their businesses — one for accounting, one for sales force automation, one for customer support and service, one for marketing, and one for warehousing. Even though software vendors try to integrate their stand-alone offerings with other point solutions using APIs and Web services, the patchwork approach can, at best, be integrated only on a rudimentary level. SMBs are now undertaking the same business application transition that Fortune 1000 companies have recently completed by moving from cobbled together, stand-alone software solutions to an integrated suite to manage core business operations.
