NetSuite services resource planning builds global momentum

Services organisations Left On-Premise Software Such As Deltek for NetSuite Cloud SRP

Upcoming NetSuite and IDC Webinar to Highlight Importance of SRP Trend for Services organisations

SAN MATEO, Calif.—Sept. 06, 2011—NetSuite Inc. (NYSE: N), the industry's leading provider of cloud-based financials / ERP software suites, today announced that more than 450 services organisations from around the world have moved away from pre-cloud, on-premise software such as Deltek for NetSuite Services Resource Planning (SRP) to manage the complete bid-to-bill lifecycle, ranging from project management, service delivery, billing, revenue and resource management, to driving repeat business from existing clients. EORM, a company that switched from Deltek to NetSuite SRP, along with Solusoft, avVenta Worldwide, and InfrastructureWORKS are among the 1,500 services companies around the globe that are reaping the cloud benefits of NetSuite, including reduced IT costs, increased utilization of resources, improved project margins, better quality and transparency of client interactions, and real- time visibility into services business operations. To learn more about the benefits of SRP and how it can help services organisations gain a competitive edge, sign up for the upcoming NetSuite and IDC Webinar tomorrow, September 7, 2011, titled: Impact of Services Resource Planning http://bit.ly/SRP_Webinar.

NetSuite is the pioneer of the SRP vision which seeks to revolutionize operations for services organisations as MRP did for manufacturing businesses. NetSuite SRP helps services organisations automate and manage key aspects of their business—resource management, project management, marketing, skills tracking, service delivery, billing, revenue and financial management, new client acquisition and driving repeat business from existing clients. For global services organisations, these solutions enable them to overcome the challenges of global services delivery, including comprehensive support for multiple languages, currencies, taxation rules, and global resource pools, as well as real-time global visibility across their entire business. Services organisations can quickly realise benefits by moving to the cloud and NetSuite SRP, abandoning outdated on-premise software systems, ad hoc spreadsheets, and email lists to manage critical client projects. NetSuite SRP allows them, for the first time, to fully take advantage of the dramatic cost savings, service delivery improvements, and productivity benefits of cloud computing.

In stark contrast, professional services automation software from on-premise software vendors such as Deltek, remain reliant on expensive servers requiring large IT organisations, have costly, lengthy upgrade cycles and are often trapped by version lock. EORM (www.eorm.com), a San Jose, Calif.-based provider of environmental, health, safety and sustainability consulting services serving more than 450 clients worldwide abandoned the antiquated architecture and bloated cost structure of Deltek's outdated on-premise software in favour of the NetSuite Cloud. The global complexities of managing customers with more than 120 geographically dispersed consultants became overwhelming for EORM's existing Deltek Advantage legacy system. The firm wanted to move into a state of the art system, and turned to NetSuite SRP. "Our existing system was error prone and inefficient, the Deltek solution could not support our growing business," said Paul Johnson, CFO of EORM. "We wanted one system that will grow as we need and provide a total integration of sales, project delivery and invoicing. We found that with the real-time visibility NetSuite SRP provides into all of our key business metrics, we will have a four-year payback on hard dollars, our globally dispersed managers and staff can gain access to the system from wherever they are, and the audit trail is amazing."

"SRP is the way forward for services organisations looking to free themselves from the frustration and losses that result when resources cannot be optimally deployed, projects veer off track and back-office costs erode margins," said Ed Marshall, senior vice president of product strategy, NetSuite. "With a dozen years of experience helping services organisations transform their business in the cloud, nobody does SRP better than NetSuite."

Other Companies that have adopted and succeeded with NetSuite SRP include:

Solusoft (www.solusoft.com), a business consulting and technology services company serving the Caribbean and northern Latin America regions. After more than a decade of sustained growth, Solusoft needed a comprehensive enterprise computing solution that could meet not only its relationship management and professional services requirements, but the unique accounting and taxation demands of the region. The firm previously relied on local accounting solutions that were inadequate to manage its business operations. Only NetSuite SRP met Solusoft's full range of functional requirements, including the ability to scale and activate new functionality as business needs expand and change. Solusoft tracks all lead generation and client commitments in SRP, as well as the entire billing lifecycle, which has improved visibility and consistency of consultant, client, and accounting activities. "With NetSuite SRP, we can ensure that consultants are not over-booked or under-utilized, that project managers always have access to the resources they need to be successful, and that our revenue streams are always recognised, realised, and recorded," said Glenn Tjon, Solusoft managing director.

InfrastructureWORKS, a technical consultancy focused on business continuity and disaster recovery. As a spinoff of an existing company, InfrastructureWORKS was tasked with quickly establishing enterprise-grade systems to support its services business, without a large capital outlay. NetSuite SRP streamlined prospect-to-customer processes which enable billable work to begin faster, and supports a complex, performance-based compensation model that helps the company properly recognise, reward, and retain its top talent. "When we started this new company, we did not want to have to do an extensive buildout of back-office staff and processes," said Jeff Greenberg, InfrastructureWORKS founder. "NetSuite SRP gives us complete, paperless enterprise management and allows us to stay lean."

avVenta Worldwide (www.avventa.com), a privately held global digital agency that specializes in marketing operations and digital/interactive marketing strategies. Prior to NetSuite SRP, avVenta relied on a cumbersome hairball of systems for financials and CRM, along with numerous spreadsheets and various legacy systems to service its client across North America, Europe, Asia and Latin America. avVenta is using NetSuite SRP for professional services billing, advanced accounting and sales force automation. NetSuite SRP enabled avVenta to significantly streamline operations and reduce time to close books from 60 days down to two weeks, saving the company thousands of dollars. "We also use NetSuite SRP for direct marketing and business development, the biggest benefit for us is having the ability to track events and ROI from the events in NetSuite, something we could never do with our previous systems," said Samatha Plue, Director of Marketing at avVenta.
