NetSuite hosts online event “SAP for the Rest of Us” to demonstrate cost savings and superior capabilities of cloud computing business suites

Top-Ten ERP Vendor NetSuite to Expound on Growing Cloud Computing Revolution for Mid-Sized Companies and Divisions of Large Corporations

"SAP for the Rest of Us: Why ERP Needn't Cost an Arm and a Leg" Webinar Open to All Members of Business, Press and Analyst Communities

SAN MATEO, Calif.—August 25, 2009—NetSuite Inc. (NYSE: N), a leading vendor of cloud computing business management software suites, today announced the details of a special online event demonstrating the business case for cloud computing in modern enterprise, particularly mid-sized enterprises and divisions of large corporations. The event, SAP for the Rest of Us: Why ERP Needn't Cost an Arm and a Leg, will be presented by Bruce Richardson, Chief Research Officer at AMR Research and Zach Nelson, NetSuite CEO, and will be joined by Franklin Christopher, President and CEO of major millwork manufacturer Commco. The trio will explain how NetSuite's next-generation solution has revolutionised enterprise software, enabling eye-popping cost savings and business benefits beyond those of conventional on-premise ERP systems.

This eye-opening one-hour web seminar will be held Thursday, August 27, at 11:00 a.m. (PDT) / 2:00 p.m. (EDT). To register, please visit www.netsuite.com.sg/webinar.

The modern, efficient NetSuite solution has provided clear, tangible, and immediate bottom-line impact for a number of prospective and former SAP customers. Consider these examples:

  • Asahi Kasei Fibers Corp.'s Dorlastan division reduced its IT expenditures thirtyfold by switching from SAP to NetSuite.
  • Fusion UV Systems saved $250,000 selecting NetSuite CRM over SAP CRM.
  • CMC Energy cut costs by more than one-third by selecting NetSuite instead of SAP. "Before NetSuite we looked closely at SAP, but the cost was 35 percent more than NetSuite, not including the servers, maintenance and outside IT help we would have needed with SAP," said Angelica Biehl, Controller at CMC Energy Services. "The lower cost and on-demand model made our decision to choose NetSuite over SAP an easy one."

Commco President and CEO Franklin Christopher will explain how NetSuite can easily replace traditional "big iron" enterprise software computing solutions at a fraction of the cost and deployment time. Commco, based in Kansas City, Missouri, distributes molding to the home improvement market, including high-profile nationwide retailers such as Lowe's. When it was sold to a new group of owners, part of its purchase agreement was the continued use of the SAP operating system. With SAP no longer supporting R/3 and American Wood Moulding considering their options, Commco also reviewed their options to either purchase its own instance of SAP and try to manage it with a smaller staff, or to go in a new direction.

By choosing NetSuite's solution, Commco does not need to manage and maintain complex software on desktops and laptops. In Christopher's eyes, SAP's offerings could not match the NetSuite solution, because only NetSuite is committed to delivering cloud-based business suites. "NetSuite provided us with a smooth transition," Christopher says. "SAP wanted our business, but knowing that NetSuite's entire focus is on cloud computing made the choice easy."

NetSuite has cemented its status as the most exciting full-spectrum cloud computing developer with a series of accomplishments in recent months. Three of the most successful recent IPOs in the United States were conducted by companies who entrust their business operations to NetSuite: OpenTable, Inc. (NasdaqGM: OPEN), SolarWinds, Inc. (NYSE: SWI), and LogMeIn, Inc. (NasdaqGM: LOGM). Fujitsu Business Systems of Japan recently became a sales and support partner, expanding the reach of the only fully-localized Japanese cloud computing enterprise solution. And NetSuite OneWorld, the leading cloud computing solution for multinational enterprise, has achieved industry certification by influential European accounting trade groups in Germany and the United Kingdom.

These accomplishments have not only strengthened NetSuite's status as a Top Ten ERP vendor by revenue (as calculated by Gartner Dataquest), but have validated cloud computing strategies for businesses of all sizes. The webinar's presenters will further explain how virtually any business can dramatically reduce IT costs by moving ERP and CRM applications to the cloud.
