NetSuite and Capgemini partner to bring cloud ERP and procurement to global enterprises

Capgemini's Deep ERP Consulting Knowledge, Best Practices and IBX Procurement Platform to Extend NetSuite's Leading Cloud ERP Platform

NETSUITE SUITEWORLD 2013, SAN JOSE, Calif.—May 14, 2013—NetSuite Inc. (NYSE: N), the leading provider of cloud-based financial / ERP software suites, and Capgemini, one of the world's foremost providers of consulting, technology and outsourcing services, today announced a partnership to bring together Capgemini's deep experience and global presence, with NetSuite's leading global cloud enterprise resource planning (ERP). The partnership is expected to provide global enterprises the flexibility, scalability and power of cloud ERP, encompassing ERP implementation, consulting, integration and BPO services. Drawing on Capgemini's rich experience and knowledge in ERP consulting, the two companies intend to team up to create joint offerings including Two Tier ERP, Cloud ERP Assessment and Roadmap.

The companies will integrate NetSuite with Capgemini's IBX procurement platform and supplier network, including Source-to-Contract and Procure-to-Pay. This gives the enterprise clear visibility across suppliers, through procurement and contract processes, to customer order management. Capgemini BPO has also chosen NetSuite to power their BPO Virtual Company solution, offered within their Global Enterprise Model (GEM). GEM is Capgemini's unique intellectual property and provides a framework for the optimal combination of: talent, location, process best practice, technology, and pricing for a client specific scenario.

The NetSuite-Capgemini partnership comes as global enterprises are joining the cloud ERP wave—the growing trend of moving away from striving for a single global ERP instance towards a two tier model using cloud ERP instead. As enterprise companies grow globally, they are increasingly turning away from legacy, on-premise software to cloud ERP to spur growth. With its agility, ease of deployment, and rapid time to market, cloud ERP allows them to maintain their investments in on-premise systems at headquarters, while launching new subsidiaries and locations, including mergers and acquisitions and emerging markets, quickly and easily in a Two-Tier ERP model¹. Alternatively, enterprises tired of the upgrade hassle and version lock of legacy, on-premise ERP, can rip it out and replace with NetSuite, which has a modern infrastructure architected for the cloud with hassle-free upgrades and customizations carried forward while relying on Capgemini's collaborative, relationship-based approach to Cloud Orchestration.

The relationship is expected to provide important benefits to enterprises worldwide, including:

  • A solution footprint to power Two-Tier cloud ERP delivery. Cloud ERP can facilitate the launch of new subsidiaries or integration of acquired companies, getting new units up and running quickly without the up-front investment in time and resources of on-premise software. NetSuite and Capgemini plan to provide a powerful combination of governance, business process management, integration, and financial process expertise leveraging the NetSuite OneWorld solution within subsidiaries and divisions.
  • Extending the value of cloud ERP to every corner of the globe. With Capgemini's offices and operations in 44 countries, and NetSuite OneWorld's deployment in 100+ countries, businesses can take advantage of the relationship to leverage the power of cloud around the world.
  • Tightly integrate e-Procurement and ERP. Capgemini's recognised IBX e-Procurement solution lets enterprises maximise operating and cost efficiencies with a procurement portal that gives an enterprise access to everything it needs—suppliers, contracts, and a consumer-like shopping experience with product catalogues—all in one place. Combined with NetSuite's broad suite of applications across ERP, CRM, Ecommerce and professional services, it can bring transparency and agility to the business—all from the convenience of the cloud.
  • Agile & flexible managed back office service options. Capgemini's BPO Virtual Company is a fully managed BPaaS (business process as a service) proposition for fast-moving companies who don't want to own the back office assets for business processing or supporting IT. Capgemini BPO will use NetSuite to power a pre-configured instance of their unique IP for BPO solution deployment, GEM. The Capgemini BPO Virtual Company can support multiple client circumstances such as: Two-Tier ERP, M&A integration scenarios, new territory expansion, product & business incubation, and divisional and regional point solutions for process standardization and best practice.

"We're thrilled to have Capgemini, with its significant business cloud expertise, as a partner as we transform the global enterprise software market," said NetSuite CEO Zach Nelson. "Together we can bring the flexibility and agility of the cloud to global organisations, giving them the technology, experience and insight to succeed."

"Partnering with NetSuite gives us a proven, customizable ERP cloud solution that answers a rapidly emerging need from global businesses seeking to adapt to the fast evolving global economy. Our joint offerings will enrich and broaden Capgemini's leading cloud and ERP related services in consulting, implementation, and in back office services around procurement and finance and accounting," said Hubert Giraud, CEO of Global Business Process Outsourcing at Capgemini.

Deploying cloud ERP within the enterprise requires combining world-class industry expertise with a cloud ERP solution that will support the most demanding customizations and business processes. NetSuite is a leading global provider of cloud ERP software suites for manufacturers and wholesale distributors, professional services organisations, software companies and more. NetSuite OneWorld provides the sophisticated customization ability and business process workflows to support enterprise ERP, while Capgemini brings global reach and deep industry expertise, packaged with complete process documentation and industrialized experience to implementations.

About NetSuite
Today, more than 16,000 companies and subsidiaries depend on NetSuite to run complex, mission-critical business processes globally in the cloud. Since its inception in 1998, NetSuite has established itself as the leading provider of enterprise-class cloud financials/ERP suites for divisions of large enterprises and mid-sized organisations seeking to upgrade their antiquated client/server ERP systems. NetSuite excels at streamlining business operations as demonstrated in a recent Gartner study naming NetSuite as the fastest growing financial management software vendor on a global basis. NetSuite continues its success in delivering the best cloud ERP/financials suites to businesses around the world, enabling them to lower IT costs significantly while increasing productivity, as the global adoption of the cloud is accelerating.

¹A two-tier ERP solution allows business customers to retain their centralized "on-premise" ERP investments, but at the same time empowers their subsidiaries or business divisions with a cloud-based ERP/financials system tailored to their exact needs and local office requirements. In simpler terms, the typical two-tier model deploys an agile cloud ERP at the subsidiary levels that integrates with the technology suites or other ERP instance at business headquarters.
