Internet Search and Advertising Leader Embraces the NetSuite Cloud
SAN MATEO, Calif.—February 25, 2010—NetSuite Inc. (NYSE: N), a leading vendor of cloud computing business management software suites, today announced that Vertro, Inc. (NasdaqGM: VTRO), an Internet search and content leader, has moved its ERP operation to the NetSuite cloud. Vertro now manages its accounting, vendor relationships, and financial consolidation for its multiple subsidiaries, located around the world, with NetSuite OneWorld. Vertro selected NetSuite OneWorld to replace SAP BusinessOne. For more information about switching from SAP to NetSuite OneWorld, please visit www.netsuite.com.sg/sap-crossroads.
Vertro, which provides millions of home pages and / or toolbars to Internet users, selected NetSuite OneWorld to replace its SAP BusinessOne installation. In the old environment, subsidiary rollup had to be managed by a cumbersome bolt-on interface, data entry for transactions was tedious, and the CRM support was not integrated. Additionally, the accounting package was "client-based" causing the company to incur additional IT staffing, hardware, administrative, and maintenance expense. Now Vertro entrusts its financial operation, including key procure-to-pay and order-to-cash processes, to NetSuite OneWorld.
"SAP BusinessOne wasn’t the right fit for our changing needs," said Mike Cutler, Vertro CFO. "NetSuite’s power and simplicity sold us. Our financial operations are streamlined, our IT support costs are minimal, the reporting serves both the financial and managerial needs, and our Sarbanes-Oxley compliance becomes much easier. This design is exactly what we need."
NetSuite OneWorld was designed from the ground up for modern enterprises with wide operating footprints but a lean operating model — perfect for Vertro, which operates in the United States, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, and Spain.
NetSuite enabled Vertro to dramatically simplify order codes and achieve greater financial consolidation under root accounts to make reporting and navigation easier. Since adopting NetSuite, Vertro has benefited from superior customisation and control over invoice presentation, improved expense management, and enhanced visibility into the company’s pipeline. "I wish we had NetSuite six years ago," Cutler said.
Vertro joins the growing list of companies turning away from legacy ERP solutions such as SAP in favor of modern, efficient, environmentally friendly cloud computing from NetSuite. On the strength of technologies such as NetSuite OneWorld and SuiteCloud Connect, NetSuite is recognised as a Top Ten ERP vendor by revenue in North America by Gartner Dataquest, the first pure cloud computing provider to reach that milestone.
