Business Tools Deliver Learning Tools

Switching retail for wholesale: Singapore-based Kids Treasures started as a direct-to-consumer retailer but soon began supplying educational institutions with toys and learning materials. As the company expanded to Malaysia, Brunei, Thailand and Korea, its wholesale customer base grew tenfold, and its product count swelled to more than 150,000 SKUs.

No time for games: Kids Treasures used separate sales, accounting and payment systems. Fragmented financial and customer data resulted in employees spending up to 70% of their time manually processing orders and invoicing customers, while finance calculated tax rates and tariffs across countries using spreadsheets. As the company grew, these processes became even more labor-intensive and error-prone.

Like a new toy: Kids Treasures automated manual processes across the business by implementing NetSuite ERP as a single platform for finance, order fulfillment, invoicing and inventory management. Time savings are a notable result: Adjusting SKU prices in bulk saves as many as 15 hours per week in data entry alone. And the company now completes its month-end close in two hours instead of two days.

Future development: Kids Treasures plans to deploy NetSuite Warehouse Management System (WMS) to wrangle its growing list of SKUs and further optimise operations as it continues to grow. It’s also considering NetSuite OneWorld to further automate management of its multi-subsidiary business.
