Cloud ERP Offers Agility and Scalability to Medical Equipment Manufacturer
TOKYO—April 24, 2017—Oracle NetSuite Global Business Unit (GBU), the industry's leading provider of cloud financials / ERP, HR and omnichannel commerce software suites, announced today that PreXion Corporation has selected NetSuite OneWorld to fuel its global business expansion plans. PreXion will use NetSuite OneWorld to manage mission-critical business processes including global financial consolidation for subsidiaries in Japan and the USA, multi-currency transactions in U.S. Dollar and Japanese YEN, multi-language capabilities for Japanese and English and CRM to manage the complete customer lifecycle.
PreXion’s state-of-the-art medical imaging diagnostics technology, which visualises dental-related images not visible to the naked eye, has been key to increasing patient satisfaction with doctors. In January 2017, the company announced a change to its business model from direct sales to wholesale through a dealer network and its product, the PreXion 3D Excelsior CBCT scanner, was launched to the dental market in the US.
This prompted the company to review its core business systems. After careful evaluation, the company selected NetSuite OneWorld to support its growth plans and new business model. Implemented in May 2016 in six months, NetSuite OneWorld now manages mission-critical business processes at PreXion’s Japanese and North American business operations. The speed of implementation of NetSuite OneWorld was crucial to maintaining a high level of customer service and offered a seamless transition from direct to wholesale, enabling the company to effectively serve both its new and existing customers.
“As part of our global business growth strategy, we wanted to implement a cloud ERP system to provide a platform that could give us the real-time business visibility needed to grow our company,” said PreXion Executive Vice President Yasutoyo (Jeff) Imada, who served as the Project Director for the implementation. “We selected NetSuite OneWorld because it can be implemented quickly and without high upfront investments in hardware assets. In addition, NetSuite OneWorld’s global multi-currency capabilities helps us overcome monetary and tax compliance challenges. It was a natural choice for us, not only to aid our expansion into the United States but also to support our future worldwide expansion plans.”
Supporting 190 currencies, 20 languages, and capable of handling tax reports for over 100 countries, NetSuite OneWorld not only supports financial accounting, customer management, business management and reporting in both Japanese and English, it allows for the successful integration of global subsidiary companies through multi-currency accounting.
After a rigorous evaluation of software solutions including Microsoft Dynamics, PreXion chose NetSuite OneWorld for the following reasons:
NetSuite OneWorld has contributed significantly to the changes at PreXion Corporation.
“The efficiency and speed at which we can now execute tasks have improved dramatically,” Imada said. “We can now make business decisions in real-time from anywhere in the world, at any time using any type of device. Not only has our overall productivity improved significantly, but our ability to notice changes to our business in real-time has also greatly contributed to prompt and informed decision-making. The confidence of our staff who use NetSuite, particularly the four project managers who have never had any experience with an implementation of ERP, has increased significantly. Having invested in a core system infrastructure that we trust has given us the confidence to continue to grow and expand our business in the United States and beyond.”
